Yes. Your website's database is backed up every 24 hours.

 

If you delete any files you have uploaded to your website by accident, these may only be recoverable before the next 24 hour backup is performed - so make sure you have a copy saved on your computer!

 

For a restore we would need to for charge the time it takes if the issue is down to user error (you!), typical restore costs are from £40 depending on the complexity of the restore required.

 

Unlike some Internet Service Providers (ISP’s) we don’t say that we guarantee 98% uptime. We don't believe that 2% down time is acceptable, we expect our sites to be available on the internet 100% of the time. Therefore our approach is simple.

 

In the event that your website is not accessible on the internet (see definition in T & C’s) for a continuous period of 2 hours or more in a working day (Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.30pm excluding bank holidays) then we will credit you the pro rata cost for that day - that would be £2.74, as long as you have reported the incidence to us via email.

 

It is important to understand that simply because you can not access your website does not mean that it is not available on the internet – in the majority of cases it will be an issue with your connection to the internet. Try opening www.bbc.co.uk in your web browser. If you can't see this page then it is highly likely your internet connection is faulty. Please contact your network administrator or broadband supplier.

 

Your website will be built using the Microsoft .NET framework which has many security features built in, we also run periodic security audits on our code to check for the latest vulnerabilities and then build and apply patches to the applications. However, security threats are always evolving so nobody can guarantee any website is not open to vulnerabilities.

 

Make a real effort to keep your password secure, and contact us straight away if you do notice a security intrusion on your website.

 

LightOrange CMS is built to WAI A level of accessibility using XHTML and CSS. That means it’s accessible to everyone - including those with slow internet connections, Stone Age computers or people with certain disabilities - and well built to government standards.

 

However, when you are adding your content you may add items which reduce the accessibility of the site for certain users – we provide an online guide on writing accessible web text to help you understand and overcome these issues, allowing everyone to be able to use and enjoy your website.

 

Your new website must be hosted with our hosting partner; we cannot run the website from existing web space you may already have access to.

 

We love the Mac. We have huge ones on some of our desks and quite a few of us use the iPhone to organise our lives.

 

You can obviously view any LightOrange CMS website using a mainstream Mac browser (we test every site to make sure you can), but we can't guarantee that the administration section will work 100%.

 

The bottom line: Make changes to you website using Internet Explorer 6 (or newer) on a PC to be super sure everything will work as it should.

To keep costs down for you, we don’t have a call centre, but we don’t really need one because it’s so easy to use, we don’t get support calls.

After years of analysing SME website stats, our hosting package gives you up to 6GB of bandwidth per month and 6 GB of file storage for your website. That's quite a lot!

In the event that you do exceed these amounts, extra bandwidth will be charged at £1.50 per GB per month and extra file storage will be charged at £1.50 per MB per month.
